Baking for One: Scones rev. 1

  • Mix:
    • 1/3 c. flour
    • 1/4 t. baking powder
    • 1/2 t. sugar
    • pinch salt
  • Cut in:
    • 1 T. butter
  • Stir in:
    • 1-2 T. chopped dried fruit or raisins, as desired
  • Add and mix:
    • half of a beaten egg
    • 1 T. cream (or milk)

Mix very briefly and press it into a flattened circle about 3/4" thick on a baking sheet or shallow cake pan. Score it into wedges and brush the top with some of the rest of the beaten egg.

Bake at 450 F for 15 minutes.



Very good -- delicious. Maybe there should be a scosh less butter, as it was just a little bit on the greasy side.
